We play against teams in New Bern, Havelock, Topsail, Newport, Cape Carteret and Jacksonville.
Rental equipment:
Rental equipment is only available for new players and is limited on a first come first serve basis. If your player played in the spring of 2017, they are not eligible to rent equipment. You will need to schedule a time to meet Allison Wasklewicz at the team's storage to be outfitted.

Practices will start the week of February 12th and games will start March 3rd. Season will end at the ECYLL tournament scheduled for the weekend of May 19-20. There will be several weekends off (exact Saturdays TBD).

EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT:  If you register before January 1, registration is $115 per player with a $20 discount for each subsequent player from the same family.
Players in all age groups must have current US Lacrosse membership (~$30 annual fee).
All players must have an updated physical form on file with PCYL prior to March 3rd. Turn it in at the informational meeting in January or to your player's team manager once practices have started. Any of these physical forms will work: Preparticipation Physical Evaluation or NC HS Athletic Association Sport Prepartication Examination Form.
If your child's physical is due after March 3rd, please submit their current physical at the beginning of the season and then give us a copy of their updated physical when they go in for their 2018 physical. No physical = No playing!
Age Brackets & Eligibility:
The age brackets for ECYLL have changed slightly for the Spring 2018 season.

14U: 09/01/2002 – 08/31/2005 **
12U: 09/01/2005 – 08/31/2007
10U: 09/01/2007 – 08/31/2009
8U: 09/01/2009 – 08/31/20012

14U: 09/01/2002 – 08/31/2006 **
11U: 09/01/2006 – 08/31/20012

** Players with a birthdate falling between 09/01/2002 - 08/31/2003 may NOT be rostered on a high school team. That includes public school, private school, school club, varsity, junior varsity or freshman teams. If they are rostered on a high school team, they are NOT eligible to play for PCYL or any ECYLL team.
If you are in the market for equipment, visit...
Locally: Dick's Sporting Goods
Regionally: Todd @ Battle Lax in Wilmington or Kiko @ Lacrosse Unlimited in Cary. They are both very knowledgable about products and can fit your child appropriately.
Girls - Please check this list to ensure that your goggles are approved. https://www.uslacrosse.org/safety/equipment/approved-eyewear-list
Many of you asked about goggles to fit over glasses and Bangerz brand has a pair for that specific purpose.
Boys - Do not purchase a used helmet. Resale establishments like Play It Again Sports do not ensure that helmets are certified or have been re-certified. PCYL's rental pool helmets are sent for recertification after 3 years of usage. And we discard helmets that are deemed un-certifiable. We take helmet safety serious and want to keep your child as safe as possible in this contact sport. For personal helmets, you, the parent, are responsible for ensuring your child's helmet is certified.
Good articles/information on helmets and how to properly fit them:  http://www.insidelacrosse.com/article/be-smart-parents-the-life-of-a-helmet/21910
Mouthguards: Everyone needs one (or two!) They can be purchased from any of the local sporting good stores. They must be a solid color. No white or clear or fancy ones that look like teeth. They must be molded/fitted before the first practice. Boys will need to have one with a lanyard so it can be attached to the helmet. Girls often buy a carrying case for theirs to attach to their lax bag. Please ensure that the mouthguard is comfortable to your player. A player with an ill fitting mouthguard can quickly become a discouraged, irritable player.
Protective Cup: All boys need to wear a protective cup. Period.

Cleats: Cleats are the best form of footwear for players so they don't slide. They can be lacrosse, football or soccer cleats. No hard spikes allowed. Just ensure they are comfortable. Like the ill-fitting mouthguard, ill-fitting footwear will cause a discourage, irritable player.
About us:

Pitt County Youth Lacrosse (PCYL) is a not for profit organization that is dedicated to developing a vibrant youth program that will teach area kids, ages 5 to 15, the great game of lacrosse in a fun, positive environment. PCYL offers clinics in the fall and team play in the spring.

We have over 100 members and play in the East Carolina Youth Lacrosse League (ECYLL) with teams from New Bern, Havelock, Topsail, Kinston, Cape Carteret and Jacksonville, totaling over 1,000 members. Our teams also play in regional tournaments and against other area schools such as Parrott Academy and Outer Banks Lacrosse Club. Our players, both girls and boys, now feed into high school teams at D.H. Conley and J.H. Rose here in Greenville. These teams were started with our assistance.

2016 marksed PCYL’s 10th year of providing kids in the Pitt County area an opportunity to play lacrosse.
